ISLAMABAD: Pakistan Electronic Media Regulatory Authority (Pemra) has banned performing artist Hamza Ali Abbasi and TV show host Shabbir Abu Talib from facilitating their Ramazan appears on Aaj TV and News One individually.
In an announcement issued on Friday, Pemra said that it had gotten 1,133 protestations through Whatsapp, Twitter and phone calls with respect to the transmissions.
The complainants said both shows had disclosed provocative substance.
"Amid these transmissions, evaluations remain the center under the appearance of Ramazan appears," read the Pemra explanation, including that "provocative discussions occurred amid the shows which has prompted much outrage and bitterness".
The administrative body asked Aaj TV and TV One to actualize the choice by 7pm on June 17, 2016.
